Truluck’s Fort Lauderdale Opens

Seafood fans of Broward, rejoice! The newest Truluck’s Seafood, Steak and Crab House will open to the public tonight, June 29. This first-class restaurant will further add to the strong complement of dining options available at Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale, such as Capital Grille, P.F. Chang's and Seasons 52.

The newly built venue features a sexy bar area and a handsome main dining room with red leather banquettes and dark woodwork. Guests should expect the same level of stellar service already present at the Houston-based chain’s nine other locations, including Naples and Boca Raton.

The focus here is crab. Depending on the season, there are upwards of 10 varieties to enjoy: blue, rock, spider, Dungeness, Jonah … you name it. The company even has its own fisheries on the Isle of Capri outside of Naples so that it can supply the freshest crabs possible. Although stone crab season doesn’t start until October, guests can enjoy (for a limited time) Norton Sound king crab legs from Alaska; they have a sweet, delicate flavor that almost rivals our famous stonies. There’s also a wide variety of other seafood choices, as well as Niman Ranch steaks.

As if that weren’t enough, the restaurant’s wine program is stellar, including flights and more than 100 wines by the glass. Throw in to-die-for desserts like the Best of Boca-winning carrot cake, and you can see why this is a winning formula along all the nation’s coastlines.

Truluck’s, 2584A E. Sunrise Blvd., Galleria Mall, Fort Lauderdale, 954/396-5656, trulucks.com
