Those of us familiar with the cutting-edge work being done at our local medical centers can certainly attest to the quality of care available throughout the county. But thanks to a recent study by HealthGrades, the rest of the country now knows that our area hospitals are a cut above the rest.

As reported this week in the South Florida Business Journal, the Denver-based HealthGrades noted that nine of the 12 hospitals in the West Palm Beach metro area received its Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence honor-making this market the best in the nation for overall hospital quality.

Overall, 12 South Florida hospitals received the DH-CE designation, including Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Delray Medical Center, JFK Medical Center and Bethesda Memorial Hospital.
