Congratulations to Margaret Mary Shuff, president and publisher of JES Publishing, for being honored by the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce with this year's prestigious Diamond Award. The award ceremony and luncheon, which takes place March 4 at the Boca Raton Marriott at Boca Center, celebrates one successful businesswoman each year who has made a difference in the community through her passion, dedication, professionalism and philanthropic efforts.

Those characteristics certainly describe Mrs. Shuff, who, along with husband John, launched JES Publishing and its flagship magazine, Boca Raton, in 1981 (JES also publishes Delray Beach, Mizner's Dream, Worth Avenue and the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce annual). Over the past 30 years, Mrs. Shuff has not only run a successful publishing empire - which, since 1989, has included a sister office with its own award-winning publications in Salt Lake City -but she also has been a tireless advocate for and key player in the Boca Raton community.

Mrs. Shuff has held board positions at several organizations and schools, including The Haven, United Way of Greater Boca Raton, Saint Andrew's School and Boca Raton Regional Hospital. In 1998, the Shuffs and JES Publishing were honored as the Small Business of the Year by the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce; and in 2003, they were named Outstanding Business Leaders by Northwood University.

Throughout their time in South Florida, Mrs. Shuff has adhered to the credo that your business is only as good as the community it serves and reflects. That philosophical thread runs through the pages of Boca Raton magazine which has been named the state's Best Overall publication by the Florida Magazine Association for an unprecedented three consecutive years - and six of the last eight years.
