1) The Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel

What: Battle of the Beach Brides

The scoop: Brides to be will battle it out on the beach for a dream wedding at the Sheraton. Participants will compete in everything from bouquet tossing to cake-eating contests to digging for diamonds. The winner will receive a 75-person wedding at the Sheraton, including a four-course meal, wedding cake and five-hour open bar. Special individual prizes will also be up for grabs. Only the first 50 brides-to-be will be accepted in the competition.

2)  The Seagate Hotel & Spa

What: New Culinary Program

The scoop: Executive chef Adam Gottlieb will be hosting special reservation-only cooking classes. Gottlieb will teach sessions involving no more than six participants. Guests will learn how to cook entrees, sample appetizers and wine, take home a Seagate apron and receive recipe cards. Cost is $150 per person.
