When you go into Virginia Philip’s new West Palm Beach wine shop, you won’t be getting advice and recommendations from some kid who’s read a few issues of Wine Spectator but from one of a handful of certified Master Sommeliers in the country and the former wine guru of the way-tony Breakers resort.

The academy takes part of the operation takes place in the shop’s tasting room and features classes geared to both novice wine drinkers and serious cork dorks. The classes are led by Philip, other Master Sommeliers, chefs and winemakers, who give lessons in everything from how to taste wine like a pro to food-wine pairings to exploring the different wines and regions of wine-producing countries around the world.
