The swanky iPic theater/“upscale social destination” whose spring-summer debut in Mizner Park was announced yesterday will boast an equally expansive and smartly designed restaurant, according to iPic Entertainment president and CEO Hamid Hashemi.

Tanzy restaurant will be 7,000 square feet of contemporary design featuring abundant natural materials and a soothing earth-tone color palette, mimicking the look of the giant (43,000 square foot) entertainment complex itself. Details were sketchy at the unveil but the restaurant will occupy the ground floor of the building, currently under construction, will feature large bar with an extensive selection of beer, wine and spirtis, and will open onto North Federal Highway with an outdoor patio.

Cuisine and price points were not revealed but Hashemi hinted at a contemporary American menu featuring such perennial favorites as sliders, flatbreads and the like. A chef is close to being named, and though no one at the unveil was talking about who that might be, a little foodie birdie told me it will likely be a very well-known local chef and restaurateur whose cuisine should fit nicely into the upscale orientation of the complex.

Tanzy will be open to the public for lunch and dinner; you don’t have to see a movie to eat there. Other dining options at the theater include eating at your seat in the Premium and Premium Plus sections of the eight move auditoriums in the complex. Craft beers and wines will be available as well as food, which can be ordered directly from your seat in Premium Plus sections or picked up and taken there in the Premium section.

Stay tuned for more details. There will surely be many more of them to come.
