Despite a dining scene that’s improving by the proverbial leaps and bounds, South Florida chefs and restaurants didn’t fare so well in this year’s James Beard Foundation awards.
None of the quartet of SoFla chefs (including Palm Beach’s own Clay Conley) made the finalists’ cut for Best Chef South. And of several other restaurants and chefs up for various awards, only Hedy Goldsmith of Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink made it to the finals, in her case Outstanding Pastry Chef.
Oh, well. . .
