It seems fitting having just celebrated Cinco de Mayo that we report a pair of new Mexican eateries in our little corner of paradise.
In West Lake Worth’s Pinewood Square shopping center is Tex-Mex specialist Guacamole (6250 Lantana Rd., 561/328-6006). It’s a surprisingly elegant space for a mall restaurant, done in soft browns and tans, with a dusky hued tile floor, stylishly contemporary furnishings and a handful of outdoor tables, dishing up all the usual Tex-Mex culinary suspects from a fairly extensive menu.
Of course, there are all the usual tacos, tostados, fajitas, burritos, quesadillas, nachos and the like, plus Latin American specialties like empanadas, cazuela (bouillabaisse-like seafood stew) and parrillada (mixed grill of chicken, steak, pork and chorizo). Prices are eminently reasonable, with a taco trio going for $7.50 and the most expensive item, the cazuela, costing $23.95.
And speaking of reasonable prices for all your fave Mexican-esque dishes, the company that wrote the book on all that stuff, Chipotle, has opened its ninth PBC eatery and fourth in Boca alone. This one is at 1666 N. Federal Hwy. Call ‘em up at 561/206-0830.
