Two more newbies for your dining pleasure. . .

Coming soon to Boca is Italio Modern Italian Kitchen (1658 N. Federal Hwy., no working phone yet), a new contender in the “fast casual” market segment specializing in cus tomizable pastas, salads andpiadina, which according to the restaurant’s website are flatbreads used to make Italian-style wraps. You choose from among those three delivery systems, then pick a protein (like grilled sirloin, beef and pork meatballs and gremolata-topped shrimp). Next comes a choice of various sauces, pestos and dressings, and finally a roster of toppings, everything from arugula and tapenade to pancetta and Parmesan. Also on the menu are a handful of side dishes and tiramisu and cannoli for dessert. Prices are fast casual cheap—from $7 to $9.

There’s also another Tacos al Carbon (4469 S. Congress Ave., 561/328-6752) in Lake Worth, this one at the corner of Congress and 6thAvenue South. It’s a cute little space—hardwood floor, line of booths against one wall, colorful mural on another. Plus the same the same array of tasty tacos, tostadas, burritos, tortas and more that make the other TalCs one of the area’s best deals (not to mention best Mexican eateries). Same cheap prices too.
