Good old-fashioned diner fare—with a few Mediterranean touches—will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year when Hallandale Beach-based Flashback Diner opens in east Boca later this fall.
The Diner will move into the posh, spacious and seemingly very un-diner-like spot on North Federal Highway formerly occupied by Viva Partenza and before that, Bova Ristorante. It may suit Flashback, though, as its look is considerably more modern than your typical greasy spoon, with photos of celebrities and celebrity chefs, free WiFi and booths outfitted with TVs for your own personal viewing pleasure.
Flashback’s menu is rather more upscale than typical diner grub too. Though you certainly can get diner favorites like omelets and pancakes, meatloaf and fried chicken, sandwiches and burgers, you can also get Cajun blackened ribeye steak and braised lamb shank, as well as Mediterranean classics like spanakopita, gyros and moussaka.
No firm opening date yet, but I’ll get back to you as soon as one is set.
