In what’s becoming a disturbing and depressing trend for Downtown Delray Beach restaurants, another Atlantic Avenue staple, Cut 432, has closed.

Cut 432 is the third Atlantic Avenue restaurant that’s closed in the past few months, following Lefkes Estiatorio and True Vegan. A anonymous Cut 432 employee told The Coastal Star in March that rising rent costs were a factor in the decision for the closing, which occurred at the end of April.

Cut 432 opened its doors in 2010 under the umbrella of Modern Restaurant Group—the hospitality group behind Park Tavern and El Camino. A new message for diners on the restaurant’s website reads, “After 18 incredible years, the time has come for us to begin our next chapter.

“While it is never easy to say goodbye to a place that holds so many memories, we are incredibly excited about what lies ahead. Our vision for the future allows us to expand, refine, and elevate everything we love about CUT 432 while staying true to the spirit that has defined it for the past 18 years … Most importantly, we want to thank you. Your loyalty, support, and trust have meant everything to us. Being a part of your lives and your celebrations has been the greatest privilege.”

The website also mentions staff being excited to welcome guests to a new location, though it has not yet been determined.

In the meantime we’ll mourn the loss of what was a truly a rare breed of steakhouse—one that didn’t rely on the name recognition of its chef, glitzy Instagram reels, or manufactured hype. It stood on the merits of its service, atmosphere, and premium cuts. Whenever and wherever it returns, we’ll be there.
