West Boca Medical Center already has a really cool app that shows the ER’s wait time, contact info with maps, a first aid guide, a health library and a physician finder. The free app now includes two new features for expectant moms and dads-to-be called the Maternity Tracker and Baby’s First Year.
The Maternity Tracker is supposed to take the place of your heavy baby books and includes a countdown timer based on your due date, an easy-to-use appointment tracker, a personal journal, tips for dad, baby name ideas, information on body changes, and more. But the app is also helpful DURING labor. It has a contraction timer that allows you to rate the severity of contractions, information on the stages of labor, relaxation and breathing techniques, and delivery methods and guidance.
“In this advanced technological world we live in, this is just another way for new families to get information at their fingertips that can help them care of their baby,” said West Boca Medical Center’s CEO Mitch Feldman. “We are always looking for new and innovative ways to connect with our patients to make sure they know we are here to help them every step of the way.”
Baby’s First Year is a new feature for brand new parents that records baby information and schedules and tracks weight and height. It also includes a personal journal, lullaby music, an appointment tracker and notes, immunization reminders, a baby feeding timer, a breastfeeding guide and tips for baby/childproofing your home.

Great iPhone Case for Runners and Walkers
I love running and walking outdoors, but I am not a fan of armbands for my iPhone. If you carry your phone in your hand like me (I need easy access to my music), Hollywood-based Marware created the SportGrip Core iPhone 4/4S case. It’s shock-absorbent and has a dimpled texture on the back for a solid grip, which comes in helpful with sweaty workout hands. It’s also currently half off. http://www.marware.com/sportgrip-core-iphone-4-cover?sc=44&category=22859
