It’s a toque-to-toque competition to benefit Hospice of Palm Beach County when the second annual Country Club Chef Showdown takes place on Thursday, Jan. 31, from 7 to 10 p.m.
The cook-off takes place at Boca West Country Club with a quartet of local chefs: Zach Bell (Addison Reserve), Joe Longo (Broken Sound), Stephen Viggiano (St. Andrews) and Bart Messing (Woodfield). The equally distinguished panel of judges includes renowned chef and cookbook author Norman Van Aken, Stephanie Miskew of The Glamorous Gourmet, sommelier Virginia Philip and our very own Marie Speed.
The cook-off itself is Iron Chef style: each chef has to prepare a signature dish using the same mystery ingredient. While the chefs do their cheffy thing, everyone else gets to sample their creations, sip wine, listen to jazz and bid on items in a silent auction.
Tickets cost $100 per person, $150 for VIP, and can be obtained here.
