Free community health fair

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 10, for the "Your Health Matters" Health and Wellness Fair at First United Methodist Church, 625 Mizner Blvd. in Boca Raton. Admission is free. Exhibits include live cooking demonstrations, health and wellness seminars, children’s activities, golf swing analysis, as well as health screenings for blood pressure, bone density, body mass index (BMI) and more. Don’t forget to get your free chair massage.

Free diabetes screenings

In observance of National Diabetes Month, Delray Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center are offering these events:

Delray Medical Center is having a lecture on “Diabetes: Signs and Symptoms” by endocrinologist Michael Mellman, M.D. The lecture will be held November 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Weisman Community Center, Ruth Rales Jewish Family Service 7091 W Atlantic Avenue Delray Beach, FL. In addition, Delray Medical Center will have a “Heart Matters Screening,” including free glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings on November 15. West Boca Medical Center is hosting a lecture, “National Diabetes Day: Understanding Diabetes,” by certified diabetes educator Janice Nadeau, RN, BSN, on November 8.
