The brand is known for their beauty products crafted from fruits and vegetables (usually organic) and ethically sourced essential oils.
From photos, the 911-square-foot store resembles a darling market—with soaps stacked like juicy produce items. Fresh face masks are kept in an ice-filled fridge.
Most importantly, LUSH is committed to preserving the environment.
The brand’s policy bands testing any products or ingredients on animals, and then goes one step further to say LUSH will not engage with any suppliers that do.
According to LUSH's website, this helps give “an economic incentive to suppliers and have convinced two companies to switch to cruelty free practices as a result.”
The green doesn’t stop there.
LUSH uses as little packing as possible. Bath Bombs, massage bars and solid shampoo bars don’t even have packing. For items that do, they use recycled (and recyclable), compost-compatible, and biodegradable materials.
The store’s carrier bags are made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper and are compostable. Shipments are even packed in biodegradable plastic bags, recycled papers and eco-friendly packing tape.
And one more little nugget we found on their site that we just have to share, in their company motto LUSH writes, “We believe in long candlelit baths, sharing showers, massage, filling the world with perfume and in the right to make mistakes, lose everything and start again.”
