So strap on your parachutes, kids, this is the week that life in the Boca shifts into the fast lane, with events every day of the week and more on the way. My colleague John Thomason delivers The Week Ahead every Monday to give you his highbrow/edgy/arcane arts and entertainment picks; I am not going to do that here. I am more on the Happy Hour side of things, or the ladies’ luncheons, or the feel-good-everyone-will-be-there events. And this week has three I can think of already:

Wednesday night, November 6: Join celebrity bartenders for an oceanfront happy hour from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Oceans 234 (at 234 N. Ocean Blvd.) in Deerfield. The event will benefit the Association of Caregiving Youth, a charity very dear to our hearts around here. We love Connie Siskowski, who is a big shot in her own right, and we love what her organization does. Best of all, our own Kevin Kaminski will join other local personalities slinging drinks for the kids—and I know Kevin will take care of you, my friends; please join us Wednesday night as we heckle him mercilessly.

Thursday night, November 7: Fifty Tables Under the Stars, an evening of delicious food and entertainment from the Lynn University Conservatory of Music from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Shops at Boca Center. Sample food from Brio Tuscan Grille, English Tap & Beer Garden, Morton’s, Rocco’s Tacos and Uncle Tai’s, and mingle with a those smarty pants beautiful people from Lynn, among others. They said ticket sales were cut off on November 1, but you may be able to beg. Call 561/361-9804.

Friday. November 8. 2013: The Big Kahuna of all ladies’ luncheons, the Junior League’s annual Woman Volunteer of the Year Award luncheon, this year at Boca West, starts at 10:30 a.m. with a silent auction (and much too much champagne) followed by lunch and a fashion show at noon. If you are reading this, you are probably already going, but if you slipped up and forgot to get a ticket, call 561/361-9804. Then go buy a hat.

And coming up? Reminder: Black Violin –a highly regarded classically-trained hip hop duo, will perform their inspired combination of hip hop, rock, and R&B in a November 16 concert at the Plumosa School of the Arts. The concert is part of the Plumosa School of the Arts Foundation’s “Shooting for the Stars” evening to benefit the elementary school’s students. Tickets are $35 for general admission and $75 for VIP and can be purchased at: plumosafoundation.org.
