New to the new dating world? No one says “necking” and “petting” anymore. Here are a few definitions to keep in mind.

Talking (v.) When two people are seeing each other non-exclusively and have not yet established that they are a couple

FBO (n.) An acronym for Facebook Official, signifying your relationship is public to the masses

Cougar (n.) A term for an older, attractive woman, usually in her 40s or early 50s, pursuing much younger men

Puma (n.) An attractive woman in her late 20s or early 30s

Smush (v.) A term originating from MTV’s Jersey Shore, it means to have sex

Spoon (v.) To cuddle

Poke (v.) A Facebook feature which alerts a user when a someone is saying hello or is potentially interested in them

Hooking Up (v.) There may never be a solid definition for this term. Hooking up can refer to meeting up or a pop kiss or even the full blown act of lovemaking. It all depends on the person.

Vibing (v.) Hanging out, relaxing, listening to music or watching TV

Bromance (n.) A term describing a complicated, loving, heterosexual relationship between two guys

Creep (v.) To lurk or stalk someone online
