While the 2016 Feast of the Sea chef challenge has changed its format from multi-day cookoff events to one big contest day on Oct. 22, there’s also a pre-event scheduled for Oct. 17. So you can start the party early!
On Oct. 17, from 6 to 8:30 p.m, there will be a Draw Party and Seafood Bake at Benny’s on the Beach, with the competing chefs in attendance, plus food and drinks. At 7 p.m. that night, drawings will start to bracket the chefs’ challenge order.
And then the Big Event on Oct. 22, at Meyer Amphitheater, 105 Evernia St., West Palm Beach. The day starts at 11 a.m., with free admission to a seafood festival where you can buy food from 24 chefs and restaurants. That lasts till 4 p.m., and then at 6 p.m. the ticket-only chefs challenge takes over the stage. It will be a gigantic cookoff, with multiple rounds of competitions. The winning chef at the end of the night will leave with a $5,000 cash prize.
There are different ticket levels for sale, including VIP tickets for the 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. seafood festival. The cost is $100 per person for VIP access that includes early entry, a private lounge area, front/center stage access, private bar and hourly cocktails. For the cookoff event from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., tickets are $150 per person for general admission, and $225 per person for VIP admission.
