32 East hosting Latin-themed dinner
On May 4, in one of the last times you can dine at 32 East before it closes, you can also enjoy a six-course Latin-themed dinner.
This is in honor of Cinco De Mayo and the staff is cooking outside their normal menu. There will be white sangria served with hors d’oeuvres, but diners are encouraged to bring their own wine to share, or order from the bar for the remainder of the meal. The seating will be a bit different, too, with one long table of 32 guests.
The menu includes a local ceviche, smoked chicken thigh, charred octopus, duck breast and more. Cost is $65 per person, plus $15 gratuity, and the festivities start at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are required. 32 E. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach; 561/276-7868.
Square One debuts in former Brewzzi spot
You can have lunch and dinner at the new Square One American Restaurant & Bar that opened in February in the former Brewzzi spot.
The all-day menu has everything from salads to steaks to seafood and pizza. There’s a brunch menu and a kids’ menu. Hours: Monday to Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday to Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. 2222 Glades Road, Boca Raton; 561/923-9176.
Palm Beach Taste of the Nation exceeds goal
In addition to event-goers having a chance to eat great bites and drink creative cocktails, the 2018 Palm Beach Taste of the Nation exceeded its fundraising goal, ending up with more than $213,000 for No Kid Hungry. The charity works to end childhood hunger in America.
Chef Co-Chairs Lindsay Autry, Zach Bell, Clay Conley, Tim Lipman and Julien Gremaud, along with Event Chair Denise Mariani, hosted more than 50 culinary folks, as well as wine curated by Master Sommelier Virginia Philip.
