A couple weeks back I promised you more details on 75 Main (270 E. Atlantic Ave., 561/243-7975), the local outpost of the Hamptons celebrity magnet of the same name, set to slip into the old Cugini Grille space in downtown Delray.
And now here they are. . .
The new 75 Main restaurant-lounge opened last Thursday, a posh 4,600 square feet of white leather Barcelona chairs, walnut porcelain floors, textured wave walls, marble-topped bar and original artwork by Raphael Mazzucco. There’s also an outdoor patio, bar and lounge with “European DJs” spinning tunes until 2 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The menu from chef John Thomas is “contemporary American cuisine with Mediterranean accents,” which on your plate means everything from tuna and Kobe beef sliders to whole roasted branzino with EVOO and fresh herbs to veal chop with porcini mushrooms and polenta.
The guy behind all this is New York restaurateur-nitelife maven Zach Erdem, who spent more than a year searching SoFla for the right location before settling on Delray. He promises “a touch of Hamptons sophistication with a definitive dose of South Florida hospitality.”
“South Florida hospitality.” Who knew?
