A Dining Silver Lining During the Pandemic: New Restaurants are Opening Up!

The third quarter Yelp report was just released, and it showed something surprising: New restaurant and food businesses are opening at pre-pandemic levels!

Plus, about 210,000 businesses have reopened nationwide that were once temporarily closed. Not surprisingly, outdoor dining is the biggest trending change. Amen to that. We have news of some new, local venues helping fuel the new biz surge.

 Just opened:

The Agency Kitchen & Bar at Delray Marketplace opened last weekend. It’s a full-service restaurant that’s next to Penny Lanes (8 of the 16 lanes are open with social distancing) and Paragon Theaters (closed right now).

The menu and hours are limited now, but will change when the theaters open. You can still stop by for tacos, sliders, pizzas, burgers and more. Hours: Fridays, 4 p.m. – midnight; Saturdays, 11 a.m. – midnight; Sundays,  11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Closed Monday-Thursday.

The Agency Kitchen & Bar, 14775 Lyons Road, Delray Beach; 561/954-0091;

Opening in November:

Los Pancho’s Tacos & Tequila Bar, 717 Lake Ave., Lake Worth – If you’ve driven on Lake Avenue east of Dixie and gawked at the huge purple-yellow-black murals going up on the corner of J Street, you’ve seen a new restaurant on the way. The Mexican venue Los Pancho’s is hoping to be open in November, with homemade tortillas and margaritas, plus tequilas galore. All with Mexican comfort street food and some seriously great murals.
