Breaking: Addison Mizner Elementary Will Not Move

School board member Frank Barbieri told the Boca Raton City Council on Monday that Superintendent Donald Fennoy has decided that Addison Mizner Elementary School will stay at its Southwest 12th Avenue location and not go to Sugar Sand Park. Addison Mizner students will move in August 2020 to the new elementary school next to Don Estridge Middle. If plans hold, the new Addison Mizner will open by August 2021 or early 2022.

Barbieri said the school district needed clarity on the location because of construction schedules. There has been no  consensus among beach and park district commissioners about taking 14 acres at Sugar Sand for a school. The new Addison Mizner will be a two-story K-5 or a three-story K-8.
