Anthony DePalma Closes Dolce in West Palm

Anthony de Palma, chef-owner of one of NoSoFla’s most exciting and original restaurants, has closed his modest but highly regarded Dolce de Palma in West Palm Beach due to a dispute with the building’s landlord.

During the restaurant’s five years in business, it and its chef garnered much critical acclaim for its adventurous food. But that wasn’t enough to overcome deficiencies in the building and the increasing difficulty of operating a restaurant in a still-troubled economy.

De Palma, however, is not likely to be gone from the local dining scene for long. He’s reportedly already received several offers, both in West Palm and to take over the former Apicius, now Bar Italia space in Lantana. Wherever he goes, I’m hoping his new spot is a more appropriate to a chef of his caliber.
