Boca Moms to Watch on Instagram in 2024

In an ever evolving digital landscape, 2023 was a surprisingly uneventful year for the @modernbocamom Instagram account. The initial excitement of reaching a significant milestone in 2022 came to a slow crawl, parallel to the growth of my follower count. It’s moments like these that make me question my love/hate relationship with the platform.

Alas, I keep on moving, trying and creating on Instagram and I am beyond grateful for my digital connection with local moms! This magazine lends itself to that connection. So does my own website, ModernBocaMom.com. But it seems to be social media that truly captivates us as parents, keeping us the most connected and entertained…and probably distracted too.

Remember when Instagram used to be just photos in chronological order? The platform has changed and grown so much since I started featuring my favorite #bocamoms on the ‘gram in this column over eight years ago. So, deciding on my annual picks for Boca moms to follow was no easy feat! Check out who made the cut for 2024…

And while we’re at it, we’d appreciate a follow too! @modernbocamom and @bocamag

The Relatable Yet Cool Mom

Jennifer Vickers, aka @jvicksss, is a pre-pandemic New York transplant and busy mom of three living in Boynton Beach. She relocated to Florida in 2010 with a hope and a dream, landing a job in Delray and meeting her now husband along the way. After becoming a mother, Vickers realized making “mom friends” was a bigger challenge than she initially thought. So, with a background in sales and seven years of motherhood under her belt, she decided to start sharing more of their life on Instagram in an effort to feel more connected to other moms.

I started watching Vickers’ hilarious Reels earlier this year and found myself nodding my head over and over again. She really does create relatable, humorous and heartwarming content that reflects all facets of motherhood, not just the highlights.

“Being a stay-at-home mom can be isolating, so I take pride in creating [for my account]. My goal is to build a community where moms feel heard, seen, safe, and loved without judgment,” says Vickers.

Bonus feature of @jvicksss account includes: An unlimited amount of optimism! From getting the perfect heatless curls to showing up for her “on the smaller side” following each day, Vickers doesn’t take herself that seriously and knows she’s only one viral video away from 10k!

Meet Maya Krampf, mommy entrepreneur and local mom of two making waves in Boca Raton! Originally from Minnesota, this software engineer turned culinary mastermind is captivating @wholesomeyum followers with her easy and healthy recipes featuring ten ingredients or less. With more than 200,000 followers, Krampf‘s account, Wholesome Yum, is one of my go-to destinations for quick and nutritious meals.

Krampf isn’t just a creator. She also recently founded Wholesome Yum’s zero sugar food line, which is available for purchase at WholesomeYumFoods.comAmazon, Sprouts Farmers Markets and other regional supermarkets. The products include baking mixes, flours, sweeteners and other healthy ingredients which have no artificial preservatives, artificial sweeteners or artificial colors or flavors. As a wannabe health nut who also loves baking, I’m a big fan!

Bonus feature of the @wholesomeyum account includes: Discovering that Krampf has actual cookbooks you can consult for recipes too! She is the author of USA Today bestseller Easy Keto Cookbook and the Easy Keto Carboholics’ Cookbook.

The Hardcore Park Mom

If you thought you were a local park connoisseur, you’d probably think again after watching a few Instagram Reels from @parkmamaa. Boasting 63 new South Florida parks explored in 2023 alone (while pregnant with her second child to boot), Manuela aka ParkMama has created an Instagram resource page filled not only with parks, but events, classes and small business recommendations targeted to parents with young children in both Palm Beach and Broward County.

As a hyperlocal blogger myself, I am consistently impressed by the (literal) miles she puts in to create compelling content for her page. I also appreciate that she always puts safety at the forefront as she visits these new locations on her own with her kiddos.

Bonus feature of the @parkmamaa account includes: Organized meet-ups! If you are struggling to make mom friends in South Florida and have a young child(ren), be sure to join one of Manuela’s meet-ups. She has a separate Instagram account dedicated to this to ensure the safety and privacy of attendees.

Cheers to another year of local mama content creators! Happy 2024 everyone!
