Cooking and Drinking with Chef Daniel Boulud

Yes, The Season is here.

The first wine dinner info that came across my plate is for French on Jan. 21 at Café Boulud, 301 Australian Ave., Palm Beach. It’s an ode to a new year in that it deals with Champagne.

An Evening of Champagne is a four-course dinner with Champagne pairings from Montagne de Reims and Cote de Blancs. A perfect place for sipping excellent Champagne is the Café Boulud setting of elegance and top-quality dining.

The reception starts at 6:45 p.m., with a 7 p.m. seated dinner, for $175 per person (excluding tax/gratuity). Reservations can be made by calling 561/655-6060.

Or you can stay at home and cook alongside Chef Daniel Boulud with a virtual cooking class–or four. Boulud’s French Classics At Home includes four such classes, planned for Jan. 14, Jan. 21, Jan. 28 and Feb. 4.

Tickets for each dinner are $60 and include shopping list, prep notes, recipe, suggested wine pairing and the Zoom link. You can buy the four-class series for $200; 10 percent of the class price goes to Citymeals on Wheels in NYC, which Boulud has been involved with for 25 years.

(If you live in NYC, you can buy tickets for both the virtual class and a recipe box, plus dessert plus a wine for pairing with the dinner. That’s for local pick-up only, and the prices are higher.)

Here are the classes and the dishes you’ll be cooking in your kitchen:

FULL SERIES CLASSES:

Thursday, January 14th: Steak Tartare
Thursday, January 21st: Poulet Basqaisse
Thurday, January 28th: Trout Grenobloise
Thursday, February 4th: Salade Lyonnaise
