The lounge area at Café Boulud in the Brazilian Court Hotel on Palm Beach has always drawn patrons because of its comfortable, inviting décor—and of course, because of the beautifully crafted cocktails.
Now the area has a new name—Le Passage—and a new look (pictured above). Opening Jan. 23, Le Passage will feature a new menu (think charred octopus aioli, $19; stuffed avocado with Key West shrimp, $14.50) and an atmosphere that, says the press release, “will embody nostalgia of the yesteryear: mixed jewel tones and tropical potted plants … a gallery of framed images commemorating Café Boulud throughout the years.” Kind of a look back along with a tasty jump forward.
We are intrigued by the new cocktail, Summer in Moscow ($14), with a house ginger cordial, and other concoctions. The menu includes many dishes and, of course, a selection of caviar blinis. Viva Le Passage!

Lincoln Road’s Eatery food hall delayed
Another food hall will open just a little later than planned—on Jan. 31—at 723 N. Lincoln Lane in Miami Beach, a 9,600-square-foot space with 14 food and drink vendors. A week of previews, music and fun events such as drag queen bingo will kick off the new space.
