If you want to grab an opportunity, you have to seize the day. Which is exactly what Olivier La Gloahec, proprietor of tres charming little Cafe de France (11O E. Atlantic Ave., 561/455-2140), is doing.
The popular Atlantic Avenue French cafe-bakery is expanding into its next-door space, adding 70 seats in a covered patio, upgrading its kitchen and bathrooms, fleshing out its wine list and broadening its now exclusively French menu to include Mediterranean and contemporary fusion cuisines.
Oh, and it gets a new name too: Carpe Diem, Latin for “seize the day.”
La Gloahec hopes to unveil the changes by December so stick around for a full report.
