Crudo at City Oyster, Deals at Deck 84

Now that South Florida weather is finally (Finally!) South Florida weather (Yay!), a plate of impeccably fresh raw fish, lightly dressed with olive oil and whatever else the chef feels like is the perfect appetite-starter on a balmy, sun-kissed day.

At Delray’s City Oyster & Sushi Bar (213 E. Atlantic Ave., 561/272-0220), chef Dennis Teixeira has introduced a trio of crudo dishes to the restaurant’s seafood-oriented menu-hamachi, salmon and tuna. At $13 they’d make a nice light meal paired with a salad or perhaps crabcakes made with Maryland lump crab. And manager-sommelier Bob Beal will even throw in a wine recommendation.

And speaking of enjoying our recent stretch of warm, sunny weather, Burt Rapoport’s Deck 84 (840 E. Atlantic Ave., 561/665-8484) is offering its own roster of daily specials to complement lounging just a crabcake’s throw from the Intracoastal.

Monday nights welcome fellow hospitality industry professionals with 20-percent discounts off everything from 11:30 a.m. on. Tuesdays bring a pair of tacos and a frozen margarita for $12, while Wednesdays knock off 20 percent from the price of all food and drink for anyone who works on or near Atlantic Avenue. Ladies get happy hour pricing at the bar from 3 p.m. until close every Thursday. And on Saturday and Sunday there’s brunch, live Caribbean bands and a have-it-your-way Bloody Mary bar beginning at 11:30 in the morning.
