Fans of the Delray Affair will have to wait yet another year to enjoy the festival in its traditional form. Festival Management Group and the Delray Chamber announced this week that for the second year in a row, this April linchpin of the Delray arts season will not be returning to its multi-block stretch of real estate on Atlantic Avenue.
But there is good news on the horizon. An alternate version of the event, rebranded Affair of the Arts, will welcome guests on April 9-11 on the grounds of the Boynton Beach Mall. The outdoor festival will feature more than 500 artists and crafters, including many returning Delray Affair favorites, offering everything from fine art to funky home décor. A beer and wine garden will also be on premises to maintain a festive atmosphere. Attendees will be asked to follow a new socially distanced layout. Hand sanitation stations will be plentiful.
“While we are disappointed that we can’t hold the Delray Affair this year, we are already making plans for our 60th anniversary event in 2022,” said Stephanie Immelman, CEO of the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce, in a press release. “In the meantime, I’m very happy that FMG took the reins and organized an event this year that will feature many of our perennial Delray Affair vendors.”
The action will take place on the north side of the mall, 801 N. Congress Ave. Boynton Beach, so mark your calendars for these dates and times: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 9-10, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 11. For additional information, call 561/279-0907.
