It’s all Greek to Tommy Vasilakis and “Roulis” Zambiyadis, and that’s a good thing.
The two local restaurateurs have joined forces to open Estia Greek Taverna & Bar (507 E. Mizner Blvd., 561/245-8885) in Boca’s Royal Palm Place, taking over the space formerly home to Turquoise and Anatolia Mediterranean Nights.
The dining room sports a very Mediterranean-esque blue-and-white paint job, rustic wooden tables, a fireplace, plus a cozy patio for al fresco eating.
Speaking of eating, top toque Silvestros Sotiriadis has crafted a menu that touches all the Greek culinary bases, from starters like domades, taramosalata and fried smelts to more substantial dishes like mousaka, lemon and oregano-marinated roasted chicken, and lamb souvlaki. There’s even Greek beer and a roster of Greek wines.
“Estia,” btw, comes from Hestia, the Goddess of the Hearth in Greek mythology.
