Choral Evensong for the Last Sunday after Epiphany, with Bach Cantata 111

March 3, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

On Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 5pm, Music at St. Paul’s will present a service of Choral Evensong for the Last Sunday after Epiphany. Featuring the Chancel Choir and Orchestra of St. Paul’s under the direction of Dr. Paul Cienniwa, the highlight of the service will be a presentation of Bach’s Cantata 111, Was mein Gott will, das g’scheh allzeit. Featured soloists are Anita Smith, soprano, Mary Catherine Salo, alto, Lionel Fils-Aime, Jr., tenor, and Alex Drucker, baritone. Additional repertoire includes organ works by Bach, Joseph Talleda’s Evening Prayer, and a Magnificat and Nunc dimittis setting by Robert Lehman, after Croft and Purcell.

The service will take place during the South Florida debut of the internationally acclaimed Icons in Transformation exhibit by abstract expressionist Ludmila Pawlowska. Her works are on display throughout St. Paul’s campus through April 7 and will available for viewing before and after Choral Evensong.

Choral Evensong is open to the public, and St. Paul’s is handicapped accessible. A freewill offering is encouraged to support the programming. For more information, visit
