Community Conversations: What’s Justice Got to Do with It?

February 2, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Social workers and criminal justice practitioners work within many institutions of social control, including prisons, child protection, mental health, and schools. Arguably, it is difficult to do good work and support justice within institutions that are based on hierarchical power and enforcement of certain norms and laws.
How can we make things better, promoting social justice, antiracism, mental health, and social wellbeing within these systems? What tools do we need to create change with the individual people we serve, as well as dealing with the larger systemic issues? How can academics/theorists and frontline workers support each other more effectively?

Don’t miss this illuminating conversation. When we know better, we can do better.

One (1) CEU is available for Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Marriage & Family Therapists, Psychologists, School Psychologists and Nurses.
