Event Details

Sugar Sand Park’s 7th annual Arts Spark Kids Fest, proudly sponsored by Modern Boca Mom, is an action-packed interactive festival taking place Sunday, March 1 from 11am-4pm. This family event celebrates cultural, creative and performing arts that are offered in and around our community.  Admission is $8 in advance, $10 at the door, for kids 12 and under; adults are free with paid child(ren).  Reservations can be made online, in person or over the phone. The event wristband includes admission to all entertainment, activity booths and indoor workshops.

New this year is the Live Mermaid Exhibit, where guests can view a swimming mermaid and experience live encounters, hosted by Captain Donovan. Cirque du Jour will perform two shows that include Unicycles & Juggling with The One Wheel Wonder “Wesley,” Hula Hoops & Contortion artistry by “Caitlin” and Comedian extraordinaire “Zach.”  These former Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey performers will also teach indoor Circus Skills classes.

Other festival highlights include performance artist Slinky Man, Living Statue, strolling puppeteers, stiltwalkers, giant Legos, a bungee trampoline, hammock haven (swing in the shade while kids play), a chalk art area, music, and more. Facepainting, glittering fairy hair, slime making, and sand art will be offered for additional fees. Food vendors will be Tomasso’s Pizza, Outside the Box, I know Snoballs, and Dough Dough Donuts.

Dynamic outdoor activities will be open all day, and include make and take art projects, computer animation station, karate board breaking, musical petting zoo (kids can try out different instruments), drumming circle, magic tricks, professional live art painting, tumble mats, construction zone, and step by step painting.

Inside the Community Center classes will be scheduled throughout different rooms, specified by age from toddler to elementary. Many classes will be offered, such as dance, art, music enrichment, edible science, drawing, circus skills, and karate. Class sizes are limited, and numbers will be issued prior to each class on a first come, first served basis. Guests can enjoy the event, then return at their class time.  Student musical performances will take place inside the Willow Theatre.

Additionally, to reduce the environmental impact of events and promote sustainability, the City of Boca Raton’s mobile water chilling station will be on site, so attendees are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle.

For information and to purchase online reservations visit, or call Sugar Sand Park Community Center at 561-347-3900.  Advanced reservations for $8 through February 29; $10 wristbands may be purchased on site, in person only, when doors open at 10:00am on March 1.
