Boca Ballet Theatre presents Brilliant Summer a mixed repertory dance concert with an interesting and exciting blend of classical and contemporary pieces. Included are the following: David Parsons’ The Envelope, a world premier by Sanjay Saverimuttu and George Balanchine’s La Source featuring principal dancers from Miami City Ballet and Boca Ballet Theatres Summer Intensive dancers.

“There is something for everyone as Brilliant Summer explores the different genres of dance” said Dan Guin, Co-Artistic Director, “we are very excited to bring you such an exciting lineup in our summer show”.

That exciting lineup is: David Parsons’ comedic contemporary masterpiece The Envelope. He started Parsons Dance in 1985 and created The Envelope as his first piece of professional choreography for his new company.  David Parsons brilliantly carries the legacy of contemporary dance.  Parsons Dance will be sending a Repetiteur, Jaime Martinez, who attended North Carolina School of the Arts with our own Dan Guin and danced at Parsons Dance, will select and rehearse with the Summer intensive students in The Envelope. We are also excited to include a former student and frequent guest artist, Sanjay Saverimuttu from Louisville Ballet, who is creating a special piece for Boca Ballet Theatre to be included in the Brilliant Summer line-up. Also, George Balanchine’s La Source featuring Miami City Ballet principal dancers Jennifer Lauren and Kleber Rebello. The Balanchine Trust allows very few youth ballet companies the privilege of performing a Balanchine piece and Boca Ballet Theatre is one of the very first. The trust will also be sending a Repetiteur, Diana White, former Soloist with New York City Ballet who will personally pick and rehearse the summer intensive students chosen to perform in La Source.
