We are quickly approaching the most anticipated event of the season! A local spinoff of the popular TV series Dancing with the Stars, eight prominent community leaders and influencers have accepted the challenge to compete in a ballroom dance fundraising competition. Paired with dance professionals from Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Boca Raton, each community dancer will be given a series of dance lessons, and practice their professionally choreographed routine for 5 months, all while reporting their progress to their friends, family, colleagues, and social circles. In September, they will compete for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy. The dancer with the most funds raised, wins. Providing scholarship funds is easy. Dedicating ourselves to helping each student graduate from college is the focus and challenge for our staff. Beyond receiving scholarships and financial aid, these students become a member of the George Snow Scholarship Fund family. They will receive our guidance and support well beyond their freshman year, as they start the next phase of their lives. Everything we do is guided by the question “what would we do for our own sons and daughters?” By contributing to Boca’s Ballroom Battle, you are providing funding for the scholar support services that our students so desperately need. From laptop computers to dormitory supplies, an emergency fund for unexpected and nonrecurring expenses, a closet full of lightly used clothing, holiday care packages in time before their final exams… these support services provide the love and support for our scholars when they need it most.
