The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade is delighted to announce the virtual return of its signature Power of the Purse event on Thurs., April 8, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The highly anticipated event will create an opportunity to convene a powerful cadre of Miami-Dade County - executives, business owners, community leaders, public officials, young professionals and philanthropists to fuel solutions on issues facing women and girls that have been exacerbated by the pandemic, and to envision the new opportunities that this disruption could bring. The event is kicking off with an impressive, all-women roster of speakers, including Mayor Daniella Levine Cava; Academy Award winner, Jane Fonda; first born of Bob and Rita Marley, Cedella Marley; Tony award winning playwright and global activist, V; and surrealist blues poet, storyteller and organizer, Aja Monet. Following the main program, guests are invited to shop for a cause during their silent auction and from the event’s exclusive retail partners including Anatomie, Massage Envy, Kendra Scott and more. Guests will also receive complimentary “virtual swag bags,” and a chance to win “virtual door prizes,” which will raffle off gift certificates for dining and take out, including Joe’s Stone Crab,  shopping experiences, professional development sessions and more.
