To Food Network cooking competition judge and show host Alex Guarnaschelli, the best thing she ever ate with garlic is the garlic bread at Rosario Lanza’s eponymous Boca Raton restaurant, Rosario’s Ristorante (145 SE Mizner Blvd., 561/393-0758).
In her segment in the Food Network show “The Best Thing I Ever Ate,” which aired in late November (and will air again Jan. 7 and 8), Guarnaschelli gave thumbs-up to Lanza’s simple but satisfying melange of freshly baked bread, olive oil, herbs and, of course, garlic.
Son and partner Chris Lanza said Guarnaschelli came into the restaurant with her family in March, followed by a call from her Food Network producer in May and arrival in July of a three-person crew, which shot six hours of video for the minutes-long segment.
He said the restaurant has been swamped with calls from people wanting to know the recipe. But the easiest way to get a taste of Guarnaschelli’s favorite garlic bread is to simple show up for dinner, where it’s actually complementary.
