Crunch Away on National Fried Chicken Day

A summer guilty pleasure is always fried chicken, and of course, there’s a national holiday for it—July 6—so crunch away. I think calories are suspended on national days—not.

The Regional Kitchen & Public House

Chef Lindsay Autry is hosting an all-you-can-eat special from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. for her wonderful sweet tea brined fried chicken (pictured above). For lunch, there’s “Meat n’ Three” for $14 (dark meat) or $16 (white meat) and a choice of three sides. For dinner dining in, the all-you-can-eat is $24, and that includes sides of in-house coleslaw and pickles. To take home, the fried chicken buckets with a pint of coleslaw and pickles are $24. Chef Lindsay’s fried chicken is so light and delicious that it’s the one I eat without any guilt. And that’s saying something. 651 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach; 561/557-6460;

Your local store will be offering free chicken tender samples from 4 to 7 p.m.
