Fundraiser for Parkland Shooting Victims on April 8

Wine, food event benefits MSD families

i-heart-mac-and-cheeseA wine and food fundraiser for the victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting is scheduled for April 8 at the Parkland Golf & Country Club. There will be more than 20 food, wine and craft beer stations, along with entertainment and a large silent auction.

Among the food vendors will be I Heart Mac & Cheese’s Parkland location (lobster mac & cheese pictured), which employs many students from the school. The proceeds benefit the Broward Education Foundation, which is raising money for the victims’ families and survivors. New Lauderdale Terra Mare offers ocean-view tables

While the snowbirds are leaving, we can start planning our summer happy hours! Terre Mare, a new land-and-sea restaurant, is open daily on Fort Lauderdale beach with happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. Executive Chef Johan Svensson offers appetizers for $10, as well $5 beers from the bar and $8 wine by the glass. These are available on the Oceanside Terrace (pictured above). The restaurant also serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. There is valet parking and meters on the street.
