Gala Season is Here: Four Evening Trends You’ll Find at Rene Ruiz Collection

The arrival of fall doesn’t just mean the end of the summer, but the beginning of the busiest time of the year for Boca Raton: gala season.

Rene Ruiz Collection—a company that specializes in entrance-making, glamorous gowns—opened its doors in Boca Raton last November, at the height of the frenzy of gala season. Now, nearly a year later, sales have almost doubled, with the staff fulfilling custom orders and many more shoppers eager to find the perfect evening gowns.

“We have many more gown styles coming in made from gorgeous fabrics our design team found in Paris and a lot more time to get ready,” says Brad Rosenblatt, owner of Rene Ruiz Collection. “We’ve always had a very strong following in the Boca market, even when we only had our store in Miami-Dade County. We had a great deal of women who would make the drive down to Coral Gables to find their perfect gown.”

Rene Ruiz Collection has two stores, one in Aventura and the newest one in Boca Raton at the Glades Plaza—another one is on the way in Pennsylvania. The much sought-after gowns are also carried at Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus both in stores and online.

Having established themselves in the community, Rosenblatt hopes to get more involved with charitable organizations and causes. So, mark your calendars for Dec. 7: Rene Ruiz Collection will be showcasing its looks at the Parkinson’s Foundation South Palm Beach County Chapter’s Fashion Show Luncheon.

With gala season upon us, Rene Ruiz Collection’s Creative Director, Luis Escudero, lets us in on his top four trends in elegant evening wear:

  1. WATERCOLOR PATTERNS AND FLORALS

Attending a charity luncheon? Wear a dress with florals, either soft or bold or one inspired by watercolor paintings. This can be anything from large, statement florals to smaller prints.

  1. DELICATE NEUTRALS

Whoever said neutrals were bland hasn’t seen this lineup yet. By donning a more subdued color, the unique draping or neckline of a dress gets to shine. If you do want to take it up a notch, you can still rock prints in neutral tones.

  1. TEXTURED TEXTILES

Wear something people will literally want to get their hands on. Whether it be appliquéd, embroidered or glittery beaded accents, texture adds a sense of drama to your look.

  1. JEWEL TONES

Not only rubies, emeralds or sapphires stand out! Pick a favorite deep, bold color and you’ll be wearing a gown only a jeweler could envision.
