Grandview Prep Announces Arrival of West Campus

East Boca may be getting a new public elementary school in 2020, but this fall Grandview Preparatory School is officially heading west and opening up a second, satellite campus in South County Regional Park.

This new west Boca private, independent school campus, for students in grades 6 to 12, will center around flexible scheduling, small group, and one-on-one instruction with the final goal being a Grandview diploma.

Not only will Grandview Preparatory School West Boca feature the main campus’ custom, research-based curriculum, it will also integrate a hybrid structure of face-to-face instruction and online learning designed to meet individual student needs. The campus, adjacent to Rick Macci Tennis Academy, is targeted to students working towards pre-professional athletics, careers in the arts such as acting or other specialized fields. The school will also offer a study room and homework help for students who are not enrolled for an annual fee.

Being a Grandview parent myself (my daughter is in Kindergarten at the main campus, which is PK3-Grade 12), this was big news when it was announced last week! You see, our school is a small community—about 270 students total. There were a lot of questions being tossed around. Would teachers from the main campus be moving? Would the PTA have to fundraise for two campuses? How would the Head of School split her time between east and west? Luckily, the answers were no, no and there’s a plan for that.

GPS West Boca will be helmed by Grandview’s current Chief Operating Officer Alan Stob. The satellite campus is expected to employ a separate group of teachers and staff from the east Boca campus where Jacqueline Westerfield will remain as Head of School.

Education is changing and parents are looking for unique, personalized options for their Boca kids, especially those pursuing passions outside the classroom. I’m seeing the shift firsthand and can’t wait to meet the students who venture out west with Grandview.
