How to Celebrate National Tequila Day This Saturday, July 24

Tequila is one of those spirits that comes with a bad rap. Blurry memories of shots and lime wedges quickly come to mind. But quality tequila that’s well made can be just as easily enjoyed in a cool cocktail or neatly sipped on without any regretful headaches the next morning. So to celebrate National Tequila Day, El Camino helped us to put together a bocamag.com exclusive video that’s all about tequila, and we compiled a short list of places and recipes to help you celebrate tequila on this Saturday, July 24. Cheers!

In the video above, Joshua Mendez, director of operations at El Camino, chats all things tequila and shares two secret recipes.

Want to make the drinks you just saw Joshua shake up? Try these at home:

Directions:

Tequila Sunrise Popsicle

ABC Fine Wine & Spirits created this recipe that will cool you down while you lounge around your pool. Pro tip: Make sure to freeze the mixture for a few hours before topping it with the grenadine.

In a shaker, add tequila, lime juice, orange juice and pineapple juice. Shake until combined and pour into a 6-ounce popsicle mold. Place in freezer and allow to freeze for 2-3 hours. Remove from freezer and top with grenadine. Freeze overnight.
