Ice Cream Time: Pulling Out All the Scoops for National Ice Cream Month

When the “feels like” temp hits the mid-90s, lemonade, a swimming pool and ice cream are on the agenda. July is also National Ice Cream month—as if we needed to make it official. Here are some new places and tastes to try:

Proper Ice Cream

While top-notch West Palm Beach restaurants Grato, Buccan and Imoto (Chef Clay Conley’s bunch), and Jupiter’s new 1000 North already serve this ice cream, you can slurp on flavors such as carmelized fig & pistachio, coffee & donuts, Key lime graham, strawberry toasted pistachio, olive oil rosemary, cornbread & apple tartin and more. Owner Rick Felberbaum still practices law, but now his passion is this store. 1445 N. Congress Ave., Delray Beach; 561/359-3420;

If you haven’t tried this form of ice cream—Thai rolled ice cream—put it on your summer list. With choices like Hazelnut Dream (vanilla ice cream, hazelnut spread, wafers), Fresa (vanilla ice cream, strawberries, graham cracker), this process of scraping and then rolling the ice cream proves deliciousness comes in all forms. Grandview Public Market, 1401 Clare Ave., West Palm Beach;

Hoffman’s Chocolates
