I know it seems as if it’s still a ways down the road, but New Year’s Eve will be here before you can say “Auld Lang Syne!” If you want to dress up in gowns and tuxes, we have that covered. If you want a good, hearty Italian celebration, we’ve got that covered, too. But we can’t make reservations for you – you’re on your own for that.

The Breakers, One South County Road, Palm Beach; 561/655-6611; www.thebreakers.com:

  • New Year’s Eve at HMF: With seatings at 9 p.m. 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., enjoy a  multi-course dinner and a midnight Champagne toast—all as you enjoy live entertainment, dancing and watch the ball drop live from Times Square. Cost: $450 per person for main room, loggia tables and bar
  • Dinner at Flagler Steakhouse: From 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a special three-course, prix-fixe menu. Regular kids menu will be available until 6:30 p.m. and then full price menu will apply. Cost: $295 per person
  • New Year’s Eve Fantasy Ball, Ponce de Leon Ballroom: From 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., here’s where fantasy meets reality, a black tie event with dramatic ceilings and glittering chandeliers. With live entertainment, dancing and culinary delights, sipping cocktails as you enjoy hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, a premium raw bar and specialty stations, followed by a four-course dinner, with wine pairings and an open bar. And Champagne at midnight, of course. Then, a half-hour into the new year, you’ll be treated to an extensive buffet of breakfast favorites—the perfect fix after a night of celebration. Cost: $750 per person
