The Shake Up gets things rolling for Taste of the Nation
Ah, one of my favorite times of the year, with Taste of the Nation 2020 coming up (April 16) at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, and the whole month of March devoted to The Shake Up, a related cocktail competition.
Let’s start with the drinking, because that’s what we do. With more than a dozen county restaurants participating, you’re bound to drink one of the competing cocktails – order the cocktail and $1-$2 goes to No Kid Hungry. So order a few!
The winning two bartenders – winning is based on how much is raised through these drinks – will be announced April 6 and then will serve their specialty cocktails at Taste of the Nation.

Not too late for tickets to Lox Farms Fresh Rx dinner
In the last of a dinner series that benefits Fresh Rx, well-known Lox Farms is hosting a dinner with Chef Marco Barbisotti of Palm Beach’s Sant Ambroeus on March 7. Starting at 5 p.m. with cocktails and canapes, you’ll take a tour of the farm, then a three-course meal in the greenhouse that includes veggies grown on the farm. (That’s true farm to table!)
The profits from the dinner go to The Fresh Rx Fund, which provides complimentary fresh produce to Jupiter Medical Center patients in need. Cost is $150 per person.
