American seafood and French wine: a marriage made in. . . Legal Sea Foods?
Well, yes, actually. From now through Sept. 1 the Legal Sea Foods (6000 Glades Rd., 561/447-2112) in Boca’s Town Center mall is featuring a selection of French wines from Burgundy, the Loire Valley, Alsace and the Rhone, all chosen by Legal’s wine guru Sandy Block to complement a variety of new dishes.
What that means in your mouth are dishes like chilled lobster and seafood salad with the 2010 Hugel “Classic” Pinot Gris ($10.50/glass) or grilled swordfish with smoked shrimp butter with the 2011 Chapoutier “La Bernadine” ($9/glass).
And if that’s not enough, there are also flights of red and white wines, a trio of mineral-accented whites (Pinot Blanc, Chablis and Sancerre) and diverse reds (two Cotes du Rhones and a Beaujolais).
