Life’s a Beach on a Family Trip to the Turks & Caicos

Sunny Day
Sweepin’ the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet

Can you tell me how to get?
How to get to…the BEACH!

As mom, I love a good beach day…but I also find it a bit of a pain—packing the car, snacks, sand. Kids, especially those under 5, make going to the beach a little less fun these days…certainly less relaxing. But after a recent trip to Beaches (for the Social Media on the Sand Conference) in the Turks & Caicos, my love for the ocean with kids has been pleasantly renewed. Especially since Grace Bay on the north shore of the island of Providenciales is basically calm, turquoise heaven.

There’s something to be said for choosing to stay at an all-inclusive beach resort where the main focus is catering to your family’s every need. I know many parents are on board with that! That means you have a chance at having an actual vacation versus a “trip with kids.” And one thing that Beaches Turks & Caicos has that Boca Raton doesn’t? A licensing agreement with Sesame Street (did you know they turned 50 this year?!).

Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?

Having decided to take my 6 year-old daughter and 2 year-old nephew with me to the Turks this year, that partnership was an extra special bonus. Has your little one ever baked cookies with the Cookie Monster? My nephew has. How about celebrating Elmo’s 3rd birthday? My nephew had the cake and ate it too. Even my daughter got into the fun as Bert and Ernie shimmied past her during Beaches Turks & Caicos’ Caribbean Junk Parade.

There are also some fun upgrades available such as a character breakfast and booking one of the characters to come to your room and tuck your kids into bed. Adorable right?

Happy Campers

Beaches truly gives you options. You can bring your young kids with you to the shore (and Beaches staff will handle the towels, food and drinks) or you can drop them off at Camp Sesame for a few hours. Of course the Kids Club (4 and under) is Sesame Street-branded!

Beaches has tons of options (that I can’t even get into in one blog post) that make a vacation there fun for every member of your family, young and old. But Big Bird and the beach? I’m 100% there for that!
