The Boca Raton Light The Night presented by Assurance Power Systems took place at Mizner Park Amphitheater on Nov. 10, raising more than $260,000.

This was the first year at Mizner Park Amphitheater where participants were treated to live entertainment, a kids zone with activities provided by ArtNEST in Delray Beach and a variety of food selections.

Teams gathered to celebrate those currently receiving treatment and the memory of their loved ones who have lost their battle. Survivors weathered the rain in the Circle of Survivors surrounded by the 1,200 walk participants as the Beam of Hope illuminated the night sky.

The Light the Night event is the main fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, where teams and individuals raise money for research and support for cancer patients and their families.

Across the United States and Canada, 1 million people participate in Light the Night at more than 150 events. Since 1949, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission has been to cure blood cancers, such as leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. The charity also helps improve the lives of patients and their families as they battle their illness.
