Max-imum Honors

Local toque Dean James Max, who put Fort Lauderdale’s 3030 Ocean on the national foodie map (and who has his hands in several other restaurant pies as well), has taken top honors in the 2010 Great American Seafood Cook-Off, which took place earlier this week in New Orleans.

Competing with 13 other chefs from around the country, Max waxed ’em with his his Clams BBLT-bivalves from Sebastian Inlet near Melbourne with bacon, basil, lettuce and tomato. The win earns him the title of “King of American Seafood” and the right to brag that for this year, at least, his seafood cuisine really does reign supreme.
