A Boca Mom’s Favorite Holiday: National Coffee Day is Sept. 29

When you see a Boca mom toting around a thermal cup in the late afternoon, chances are there’s one of two things in it: wine…or coffee! (See how I put wine first? These are the moms I personally hang out with.)

The month of September has officially done me in. At this point, I wish I could hook myself up to a coffee IV. I guess that’s why Sept. 29 (at the end of this crazy busy month) was chosen as National Coffee Day—whoever invented it was just thinking about us moms who are totally drained from back-to-school, work, travel and early morning routines. Right?

Because my mornings consist of me begging my daughter to wake up, asking 10 times what she wants for breakfast, putting together the last-minute lunch that I refused to do the night before, and making a bed if I really want to feel like a superhero, it’s no wonder all I want is the perfect cup of iced coffee running through my veins to give me that extra jolt of happy (and sanity. This is a (holi)day I truly look forward to.

National Coffee Day might fall on a Saturday this year, but here’s where you can get that magical cup on Sept. 29 around Boca Raton… and at home.

Duck Donuts
Duck Donuts is celebrating National Coffee Day on Sept. 29 with a free, small hot coffee with any purchase. Like you’d leave without buying a donut anyways. 5030 Champion Blvd., Boca Raton; 561/334-2115;

Dunkin’ Donuts
National Coffee Day will be twice as nice at Dunkin’ Donuts this year, as the brand has brewed up a special buy one, get one offer for its customers, making it simple to share a cup with friends, family and favorite fellow coffee fans. On Sept. 29, anyone who purchases a hot coffee will get one hot coffee free (of equal or lesser value).

Einstein Bagels
All day on Sept. 29, the store is offering a free cup of Caribou coffee with any purchase.

You need to download the restaurant’s app for this one—get any sized coffee for just $1, or if you buy a medium or large McCafé (excluding Hot Brewed and Iced Coffee), you get a second for just 1 cent!

At Home

In case you dream of the same iced-coffee bliss as me, but don’t have the time to wait hours for cold brew or in line at the coffee shop down the street, allow me to provide you with the latest in coffee innovation that has revolutionized my morning. Drinkfinity has just upped the on-the-go coffee game with the launch of their new Charge Coffee Infusion Pods. Drinkfinity’s take on iced coffee is a total time saver. All you need to do is fill the sleek, reusable and BPA-free Drinkfinity Vessel with cold water, peel off the sticker, pop the Pod, and shake. Add ice and/or your favorite creamer and voila!

In honor of National Coffee Day, visit from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 to get 50 percent off the Americano Starter kit. That includes the Drinkfinity vessel, an Americano charge, and Cinnamon American Charge pod.

Sorry, you’re out of luck because they don’t participate—back to one of the other options above!

However you celebrate National Coffee Day, may you be productive and caffeinated throughout the months ahead, mamas! The holidays are just around the corner…
